Dispensary Potency
Quantity limits are in grams. Potency is where you tell the module how many grams of allowance one unit of each product consumes, so checkout can add up a basket and compare it with the limits in force.
In plain words
Limits are measured in grams, but you sell things in units, so Trapyfy has to know how many grams one unit is. That number is the potency. Without it, checkout cannot tell whether a basket is over the legal limit.
The Potency page
Modules → Dispensary → Potency. The page opens with a banner listing every product that has no resolvable grams-per-unit value, each with a Set potency button. This is the setup check: anything still in that list blocks a member's checkout with UNKNOWN_POTENCY until it is set. Below the banner, the table lists what is configured: product, product id, variation id, grams per unit, THC %, and who last updated it and when. Edit reopens the same dialog pre-filled.
Product(required)
Pick from your catalogue.
Variation id(optional)
Set a value for one variation when sizes or strengths differ. Leave blank for a product-level value.
Grams per unit(required)
How much allowance one unit consumes. A flat number; apply any equivalency before you enter it (see below).
THC %(optional)
Recorded for reference and reporting. It does not change the grams calculation.
How a product's grams are resolved
At checkout the module looks for a value in this order and uses the first one it finds:
| 1. Variation | A value set for the specific variation (size, strength) the member is buying. |
| 2. Product | A value set for the product as a whole. |
| 3. Category default | The grams set for the product's category under Equivalency defaults in Settings. |
| 4. Organization default | The organization-wide grams under Equivalency defaults. |
| Nothing resolves | Checkout blocks with UNKNOWN_POTENCY until a value is set. |
A category default is the fastest way to cover a whole range at once; a product-level value overrides it where one item differs.
Recommended equivalencies
The form takes a flat grams figure, so any conversion for non-flower products is applied by you before you enter the number. These are Trapyfy's recommended starting points. They are not legal advice; confirm them against your market's rules and record who approved them.
| Product type | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Flower | 1 g of product = 1 g of allowance. Enter the net weight per unit. |
| Concentrates and vapes | Enter the product's weight multiplied by four: a 1 g cartridge is entered as 4 g. |
| Edibles | Enter the total THC in milligrams divided by 25: a pack with 100 mg THC is entered as 4 g. |
| Accessories and non-cannabis items | Still need a value, or a basket containing one is blocked. Agree the value with your compliance lead; the intent is that they do not consume allowance. |
Clear the missing-potency banner before you open for trade. Each product left in it is a member stopped at the till with a blocked checkout.
Limits, caps and the equivalency defaults live in Dispensary → Settings. What happens at the till is on Checkout & Reports.
